2010 Parade Marshals and Dignitaries

The Findlay Market Association is the proud sponsor of the 91st Opening Day Parade, and with the cooperation of the Cincinnati Reds, is proud to announce the Grand Marshal, Honorary Marshal and Dignitaries of this years parade.

Johnny Bench2010 Findlay Market Parade Grand Marshal - Johnny Bench: Cincinnati’s uniform No. 5 belongs to perhaps the greatest catcher ever to play in the Major Leagues. Johnny Bench ended his 17-year storied career in 1983 after earning a pair of Most Valuable Player Awards, 10 Gold Gloves and 14 All-Star Game selections. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. Bench currently serves on the Board of the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum.


 
 
 
 
 
 
 

George Grande2010 Honorary Marshal - George Grande: Retired as the play-by-play voice of the Reds on FOX Sports Ohio last year after 17 seasons. All 17 seasons were partnered with Chris Welsh, forming the longest-running TV duo in Reds history. A 41-year veteran of the broadcasting business, George also covered the World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals, Super Bowl, NCAA basketball tournament, College World Series and major college football games. George also anchored the first-ever ESPN SportsCenter telecast on September 7, 1979.


 
 
 
 
 

Miss Ohio Amanda Tempel2010 Dignitary - Miss Ohio Amanda Tempel: Amanda was representing her hometown of St. Bernard and it was her first attempt at the title.

The 20 year old is a 2008 graduate of Roger Bacon High School. Amanda attended her first semester of college at Kent State University majoring in Fashion Merchandising then transferred to The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash where she is majoring in Pre-Business.


 
 
 
 
 
 

Bronson Arroyo2010 Dignitary - Bronson Arroyo: Has twice been awarded the Johnny Vander Meer Award as the club’s Most Outstanding Pitcher (2006, 2009). In 2009 he led the Reds’ pitching staff in wins (15), starts (33), complete games (3), shutouts (2) and innings pitched (220.1). He will be starting the Reds starting pitcher in the third regular season game (Thursday, April 8 @ 12:35PM vs. Cardinals).

 
 
 
 

The parade kicks off at 10:30am on Monday, April 5th. Parade starts at Findlay Market on Race Street.
